01.
Harmony Psychological Services offers weekly or bi-weekly individual therapy for children (ages 3-11) to address a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and autism. Our approach is tailored to meet the unique needs of each child, providing a safe and supportive environment for them to express themselves and work through their difficulties.
02.
Our adolescent therapy services (ages 12-21) are tailored to address the unique developmental and emotional needs of pre-teens, teens, and older adolescents. On a weekly or bi-weekly basis, we provide a supportive space for adolescents from middle school through college to explore their concerns, develop their identities, build resilience, and develop healthy coping mechanisms as they navigate the challenges and transitions of adolescence. Whether your adolescent is struggling with school, relationships, or confidence, therapy can help them feel heard, understood, and empowered.
03.
Family therapy at Harmony Psychological Services focuses on improving communication, resolving conflicts, and strengthening relationships within the family unit. On a weekly or bi-weekly basis, we work collaboratively with children, adolescents, adult children, parents, and other family members to address issues and promote positive change. Whether navigating relationship challenges or life transitions, we create a supportive space where families of all ages can work together to build healthier, more fulfilling connections. Family therapy sessions can be conducted with parents only, parents and child/adolescent/adult child only, siblings only, or the entire family unit.
04.
Parenting or caregiving for a child or adolescent can bring immense joy but also unique challenges. It can feel exhausting and isolating, especially when mental health challenges and school-related issues such as academic struggles, social difficulties, or behavioral concerns arise. At Harmony Psychological Services, we support parents and caregivers and other adults with practical tools to manage anxiety, depression, or stress; strengthen communication; and improve emotional well-being. Together, we will work to help you find balance and resilience. When you thrive, you are better equipped to care for or interact with those who depend on you, whether it's your children, family members, significant other, or colleagues at work.
05.
In addition to therapy services, we provide educational consultation to parents/caregivers to support children and adolescents in navigating academic challenges. We are dedicated to fostering a harmonious connection between mental well-being and academic success, offering guidance to parents and collaboration with educational institutions. With her extensive experience in and knowledge of education, Dr. Huang can support parents/caregivers by providing executive functioning strategies to you and your children/adolescents, observing your children and adolescents in school and daycare settings, navigating the Section 504 and Individualized Education Program (IEP) processes with you, reviewing and helping you understand your child’s IEP or psychological/neuropsychological evaluation report, collaborating with school staff, and making recommendations about potential school interventions and accommodations.
06.
Harmony Psychological Services offers parent/caregiver consultation to empower them with valuable insights and strategies for supporting their children's and teen's behaviors and mental health and well-being at home. Consultation is personalized and can include support with general parenting concerns, enhancing understanding of child and adolescent development, navigating a new diagnosis for your child or adolescent (e.g. anxiety, ADHD, autism, learning disability, etc.), developing behavior and/or discipline strategies, or providing strategies to support your child or adolescent's emotional regulation. Through collaborative discussions and guidance with parents/caregivers and other service providers, we aim to equip parents with the tools to foster a nurturing and supportive environment for their children.
07.
SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) is an evidence-based parent treatment developed at Yale University for children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and related problems. Even though your child/adolescent is the client, SPACE focuses on empowering parents (and/or caregivers) to reduce accommodating behaviors that inadvertently reinforce anxiety. Through structured guidance and practical strategies, we help parents (and/or caregivers) learn how to respond to your child or adolescent’s distress with support and confidence, fostering greater independence, emotional resilience, and long-term coping skills.
08.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is an evidence-based treatment for children, teens, and adults that helps the brain process and heal from distressing or overwhelming experiences. While EMDR is well known for treating trauma, it is also effective for anxiety, depression, and other challenges that can leave you feeling stuck. EMDR can be provided as a standalone treatment or thoughtfully integrated into ongoing therapy, depending on you or your child’s/teen’s individual goals and needs. At Harmony Psychological Services, we tailor EMDR therapy to each individual’s pace, creating a safe, collaborative, and supportive environment that fosters lasting healing and resilience.
