Psychological Testing

Our comprehensive psychological evaluation offers a whole-child perspective—including not just cognitive, educational, behavioral, and social-emotional functioning, but offering insight on how these factors may show up in the classroom and at home. This in-depth assessment clarifies diagnostic questions, identifies strengths and areas of need, determines potential eligibility for school-based services (including IEPs and 504 Plans), and results in practical recommendations rooted in a deep understanding of child and adolescent development.

Drawing on extensive experience working directly in schools, our evaluation reflects a firsthand understanding of how learning differences impact students on a day-to-day basis and and how students learn best. Our evaluation examines the specific pattern of strengths and weaknesses underlying a student's academic struggles, whether in reading (dyslexia), written expression (dysgraphia), and/or math (dyscalculia), as well as situations where a bright and capable student's strengths may be masking an underlying difficulty (sometimes referred to as "twice exceptional" or "2e"). Testing also supports potential eligibility for school-based services (including IEPs and 504 Plans) and provides individualized, classroom-tested strategies that support real academic progress.

Attention and executive functioning challenges look different in every child and adolescent. With a background in school psychology, our focused neurodiversity-affirming evaluation assesses ADHD within the context of real learning environments—not just a testing room. The process combines a cognitive assessment (if needed for IEP eligibility), clinical interviews, record review, observation, and standardized rating scales to provide diagnostic clarity, along with practical, school- and home-based strategies.

Informed by direct experience supporting autistic children, adolescents, and young adults in school settings, our focused evaluation looks closely at social communication and interaction, behavior, and developmental history using a cognitive assessment (if needed for IEP eligibility), clinical interviews, record review, observation, and neurodiversity-affirming diagnostic tools. Beyond diagnosis, our recommendations are individualized and grounded in knowledge of strategies found effective in real classrooms and everyday life.

A background in school psychology and experience working with gifted students in school settings provides deep insight into what private schools and gifted programs are looking for in their applicants, as well as how to identify your child or adolescent's true intellectual strengths. Our evaluation offers a thorough assessment of cognitive (IQ) and/or academic abilities, depending on private school or gifted program requirements.
